 Life is touch and go. Some will stay only for a while. Others will go away but those who find you special will find ways to stay

Hey May,

I have been thinking about you and worrying about you.  Hope this flare passes soon!

Don't quit:

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road your trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and its turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When they might have won, had they stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victors cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when your hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit!

Thanks for the comment.  I hadn't thought about it but I had been buying bananas for a few months and then quit buying them...don't know why. It's worth a shot to try some. I am feeling a bit better. Still real tired but not so much pain. I wonder if we have a "drink" like your runners drink...could you list the ingredients for me? I know I can't do echinacea but don't know what else.  I go to the rheumy on Tues. am hoping she can give me something for pain that won't keep me up at night, when I really need something. Sounds like you have a very understanding husband.

Hope you have a good day.

Thanks for the info on the drink. Saw the rheumy today, she seems to think that it is a neuropathy. We are checking into whether it  could be a rare side effect from the plaquenil I take or she said it could be a pinched nerve from the Lupus inflammation. She sent me home with 3 more RXs, sigh. Not exactly what I wanted but two of them are short term to see if it is the legs that are keeping me from getting a decent nights rest. She said that an extra bit of calcium and potassium would probaly do me some good overall.   Hope you and I both have sweet dreams tonight. Thanks again.

May: I am very sorry to hear that you have had a nasty flare-up.  Lupus is bad enough on a day to day basis without the added stessor of a flare up.  Hopefully by the time you read this you are physically and emotionally feeling better.  I find the hardest part of this illness has been the emotional distress it causes me, because I am constantly having to explain "WHY" I do not feel up to doing something, to people who just don't get it!!  Then when you throw into the equation the constant pain, well what can I say that you do not already know.  Again I am imagining you feeling better at this moment and I hope it is working.
